PHC4 Abstraction and Compliance

Under the Pennsylvania law (Act 89), hospitals are required to provide quarterly healthcare data to the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4), HIA assists with this process by collecting (abstracting) and entering the key clinical findings relative to severity of illness, (laboratory data as well), to match the facilities UB data to ensure compliance. HIA is the oldest and largest organization in Pennsylvania providing this service.

Our services include:

Partial or Full Consulting/Outsourcing: If you use ATLAS for reporting and/or submission of data, we can give you the assistance needed to prepare and produce your PHC4 file using the ATLAS system.

With hospitals being required to submit their laboratory data for inpatient discharges, HIA can help you develop your own internal processes or mechanisms to submit the needed data. We can also continue working with you so that you will meet the specifications and requirements as identified by the PHC4.

We help ensure that all the necessary aspects in maintaining practitioner tables are fully compliant under the PHC4 guidelines.

Cardiac surgery data reporting is also required to be submitted to the PHC4. If your organization provides such treatment, we are here to assist you.

HIA is the oldest and largest Corporation in Pennsylvania providing PHC4 Abstraction and Compliance Services in addition to Cardiac Registries, Tumor Registry, Trauma Registry and Coding Services.
