National Nurse’s Week

HIA would like to take the time to recognize the commitment and dedication of nurses during the month of May. More specifically, starting on May 6th to the end of the week on May 12th, we celebrate National Nurses Week. These heroes’ have earned more than a week of commemoration, as they have put their lives on the front line to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past year, the world has faced challenges that we could have never prepared ourselves for. COVID-19 has affected our everyday lives, and while a lot of us have been working remotely or seeking safety in our homes, nurses worldwide have risen to the challenge this year.

Nurses have always been trusted, adaptable and resilient as we think back to the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. The first National Nurses Week dates back to 1954 to honor the famous British nurse. Nightingale can be remembered for her work during the Crimean war as she aimed to improve the conditions of the sick. She set out to formalize nursing education and will forever be recognized for her selfless work as a social reformer and nurse.

HIA urges you to show your support by taking a moment to thank a nurse in your life. Turn to social media to recognize a nurse that has affected your life somehow, whether they inspire you or helped you or a loved one in need. It is time we give back to those who helped us through a tough year and became our “Frontline Warriors.”

Thank you for your interest in HIA. This position has been filled. Please check back again in the future for any openings.

Thank you!
