Health Information Professionals (HIP) 2020
American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has been a leading force in ensuring patient quality care by promoting the accuracy, integrity, protection, and accessibility of health information to all patients and health care providers.
AHIMA recognizes the impact of all Health Information Professionals (HIP) and they bring to health care not just in the United States but all over the world. This recognition is expressed by dedicating a time to celebrate these professionals who have been the silent force behind health information accuracy, completeness, protection and accessibility. These healthcare professionals are not seen in the frontlines of healthcare, however, they all play a big role in impacting health care and promoting quality of care by sharing their knowledge, skills and passion and dedication to make a positive impact on healthcare. There is no other way of celebrating these dedicate professionals regardless of position or title other than recognizing them and their efforts through HIP Week. And this year’s HIP week will be in conjunction with AHIMA20 Virtual Conference from October 11-17, 2020.
This event is not only a celebration for all health information professionals and the dedicated and critical work that they do but also to emphasize the importance and advancement of the health information profession. This is the time to celebrate, learn, be involve, share and strategize to equip all healthcare professionals with the knowledge and visions leading to the future of health information.
In dedication to all health information professionals, AHIMA has created the HIPWeek.org website specifically for the HIP Week event. This website allows health information professionals to be engaged in their day to day walk and share their stories and the impact they bring to the improvement of health information and the quality of patient care.
